Even the Canon or Sigma 10-22/10-20 doesn't render straight lines as straight at 10mm. It gives a fish eye effect. So whats the big difference?

Nathaniel I was just wondering the same question. After all on a ff camera, not that you can use ef-s lenses on them, 10-22 would be the equivalent of a 7-15 approx... much the same focal length as the fish eye. Though at 10mm the converging verticals on an APSC are not quite like those shown here.
Must be a fun lens to experiment with though.

Sandra, I raised this question also under "Lenses" (not under "lens reviews") (Canon 10-22/Sigma 10-20 etc) and it has been very well answered by MX5. You might like to look at that thread.
Personally I don't like the fish eye effect and would like to keep the verticals and horizontals "straight"!

I have one on my 5Diii and I think it's superb.
It replaced a Sigma 8mm and the difference is massive!
When creating 360mm panos, I set it to 12mm tilted up a bit and get a full 360x180 except for a small bit missing at the nadir but the tripod tead it there anyway.
            It is so sharp!
Real fun for interiors too especially if pointing up or straignt down.
