    DIY Cover

Having just received the Stealth Gear two man hide I was thinking of getting a cover for my camera and lens, mainly to keep the elements off it and secondly to cover the white lens. The set up in question I will be using in my new hide will be my 60D, with 70-200 F4L non is and 1.4x extender. I remembered I had a large piece of camo Gortex in the garage.

I explained what I was thinking of to my wife and showed her a picture of what I had in mind and off she went. Came home today to find my camera dressed in a new cover. Its perfect, I can operate the zoom fine, the back lifts up completely to allow access to camera controls. Its 100% waterproof being Gortex and it was free.

    The set up Naked.

Great job there, just shows the wife will do anything to get you out of the house, even when it's raining.

Great job. Can Mrs Swoosh make me a pair of camo slippers, so I can sneak upstairs without waking anyone up?

You are very fortunate that Mrs Swoosh is so adept with a needle and thread.

Mrs C's expertise with a needle is limited to poking it into an effigy of me, so no custom camouflage for me then. Hmmm, where did that pain in my arm come from?

Then I guess you will need to either spend or do like me, make your own. Having seen this thread I remembered I had some Goretex left from a previous project and decided to give it a go.
Here is my effort (the tripod and camera shown are just clothes hangers).

I used an EOS550D with EF-S18-55 and auto flash.

The cover is for use with the EOS550D with EF-S55-250 lens

Peter excellent one. Very professional looking one too. I have one like that, same colour and it cost me £11 post free from Ebay. Have put it on my camera already for my trip to the Mersey wild life cruise tomorrow.
