    Sweet Pea

    Found growing wild in the station car park. It is past its best, but I thought the 5DMkiii just about nailed the focus. What do you think:

    1/1000 expsoure at f4.0, 5DMk111, 24-105mm at 105mm, ISO 100.

    I would agree that you nailed the focus. Nice blur on the background and IMO I think the brightness is well balanced. My only suggestion would be to crop out the flower on the left and some off the top to give the photo more impact.

      Lovely colours. I would have been tempted to removed the bright grass(?) running diagonally in the bokeh, as I find it slightly distracting.

          I agree with the above, this is a lovely photo but those flowers immediately to the right and left spoil the impact.
          I would be very pleased otherwise.

            Hmmm, interesting, thank you all for the feedback. I am still uncertain on the basis that this is a now wild plant. If I was photographing my father's specimen, prize winning Sweet Peas, then I would take a very different approach. I wanted to reflect something of the wildness, but I obviously have not conveyed that in the picture, which has stumped me. Here is a second take:
