The 60mm is optically very similar to the 100mm, possibly a tad sharper. The drawback is that you have to get closer to the subject (minimum working focal distance ~9cm). Add the 250D and you have to get very close - probably the equivalent of a 40mm lens?. OK for subjects that don't run away, but I bought a Sigma 180mm macro for insects etc.
I used RSP to convert the raw file and upped the detail extraction a bit. It's a dangerous thing to do as RSP gets perilously close to the Nyquist frequency at the best of times, but this one was OK.
No sharpening as such, just a de-blur with Focus Magic using the minimum 1px blur radius to counteract the effect of the AA filter.
100% crop.
