    How many gigabytes?

    Hi
How many gigabytes can the Eos 500D take on a memorycard? I have a Sandisk with 4GB and would like one with 16 GB.
Someone told me that 4 was max and that is not enough i think.

    Best regards Peter

Can take at least 32Gb... but... my personal preference is to use a number of smaller cards; 4Gb or 8Gb max. I don't like all my eggs in one basket! I know that card failure is rare, but even so, better safe than sorry IMO...

    And welcome to the forum...
I actively encourage constructive comment & critique of any image I post!
Feel free to edit & re-post as you see fit - but please - tell me what you have done to 'improve' the shot!

I shoot RAW/jpeg and have standardized on 4GB cards for both my 400D and 40D.(I have four for each camera, Transcend for 400D, Sandisk for 40D so I don't get them mixed up)) I am not an avaricious shooter and find these cards have enough shots for several days shooting. Though I normally download each evening. I also don't like having all my eggs in one basket.
