    Compact Canons?

Great to have the new issue. So much to read and learn it will keep me busy till Christmas. Many thanks.

I hope that this is not too heretical for EOS Magazine but ...

Given that a DSLR - mine's a 7D - tends to be bulky and heavy, many of us fancy having a compact in the pocket when we don't want to take an EOS.

Clearly you can't go too far out of the EOS zone but what about short reviews of new Canon compacts, particularly in terms of where they might equal a DSLR in facilities and what we would miss. It's easy to be seduced by new gear and then realise that, for example, there's no viewfinder information, depth of field preview etc.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've added it to our schedule for 2013.

      Please keep the ideas coming.

Excellent idea. I use a 60D but my little canera is a NIKON AW100. It's about par for this type of camera (5x periscope lens, waterproof, droproof etc.) and ideally suited to my kayaking needs. I too would like to see something on decent quality compacts though not another interchangeable system.
