    What Aircraft is it?

Try this one - reasonably easy if you're a bit sad like yours truly in the aircraft recognition dept.

I picked up that its a prop plane but that's the extent of my knowledge. Great image though.

Well, Scott, you're right about the prop plane bit.

Twin engined (2 throttles)? WWII? British? American?
              A clue would be nice!

Not Mosquito, not Blenheim. The shape of the windscreen is the first clue and the yoke is the clincher.

I come down firmly on Paul's side, a Vickers Wellington Bomber.

Hmm not sure? This is a wellington cockpit.

Is Colin an expert at everything?
I did think of a Wellington but wasn't too sure. Google Images finds the same cockpit so well done to Paul who got it first.
I knew a pilot who trained on Wellingtons who said the instructor would tell you to check the wing tips before take off (when they were visible from the cockpit) and again in the air (when they weren't)! The geodetic construction meant the wings were flexible.
Anyhow - it's a great photo - Neilly, I presume at RAF Museum at Hendon?

                          Hi All,

Here you go, guys - a Wellington bomber cockpit it is. We had the Large Model Associatation AGM at the RAF Museum, Cosford last Sunday and after it had finished quite a few of us took advantage of their offer to look around the Sir Michael Beetham restoration hanger. This is not normally open to Joe Public, so we were very lucky. Last year we were allowed to look over the hanger from the balcony, but this year we went in properly. I'll post more pictures later in a proper thread.

                            Thanks Neilly

I didn't know it had gone to Cosford.
Would be great to see it flying again!
