    Autosport International @ NEC

Been a while since I've been down at this, but me and my lad decided to pull the finger out and make the effort this year. A cracking show with only two notable things happening.

First was my new Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 packed in quite early on which cheesed me off no end. Warranty issue now, but bought from Jessops

Second is the embarrassing actions of some guys taking pics of the lycra girls. Now I'm all up for viewing nice ladies, but some of the leeches were bordering on Jim'll fix it levels of depravation.

Anyway a couple of pics before my lens packed in...

Some good and very vibrant shots, assume due to strong lighting at the venue. You have a few reflections but i doubt you could avid them

Super set of pictures, I don't like photographing at the NEC because of the terrible lighting.

I hope you don't mind me adding some of mine...

I think you did unbelievably well - Cory and I went last as an invitation from the classic club and hated 99.9% of it, the lighting for photography was awful, the people (once they opened the doors) were what really ended it for us, just pushing and shoving and forever in the way. . . . nope never again!

I am fortunate that I went on one of the trade days. Despite this it seemed to be full of "students" whose sole aim was to get in the way and have their pictures taken with some of the promo girls!

I agree about the lighting, it is awful, hence I always shoot RAW there, then I have some chance of getting something reasonable.

            Thanks for the comments

                Nice shots Robert

Got to agree, lighting is horrific, even for just walking about, never mind taking pics. Everything is orange and makes the promo girl self tans look neutral. All shot in raw and white balance adjusted in LR3.

i was going to use my polariser but that would mean dropping another stop that I could not afford. Not with my shaky hands lol. It was busy, busy and found that using the 24-105 after my Tokina meant too many numpties were wandering into the shot as I had to stand back further. One thing that was evident was the serious lack of manners of some folks. Not saying I had the right to take shots and everyone should wait, but would have been nice rather than said numpties just to wander in then giggle as they walked off.
