Very natural looking lighting, with a little shadow detail to provide some modelling. Very well done - most just blast the light at their first attempt and you have controlled it well.

Thanks Colin We had someone come in to demonstrate and then allow us to try using their lights and we have a portrait comp coming up so thought I would take another member up on the offer of borrowing their kit. The hardest part was keeping my one year old still.

Paul, I think you've done a great job, they're fantastic shots. Any father would be very happy with these results!

Cheers Andy I am very pleased with the majority of them some should have been better but photography is a very large learning curve and I am at the bottom at the moment

Been thinking of getting my own set for some time know. Examples like this help me to decide.

Looks good. Number 1 is my favourite

Thanks for the comments I think that if I get a set I will probably just get a few flashguns and stands so that I can use the flashguns for other things aswell

Very professional, Paul - these are lovely portraits and for sure they wouldn't have been as good without the proper lighting.

You say they were a "simple set of studio light" - what did you use, exactly? The set up was obviously very good, simple or not

                  Thanks

Lovely set Paul. I have the urge to do some studio shots and these show that it's possible to get some great shots with a bit of practice. Thanks for sharing.

The setup is a portaflash kit same as this apart from I had two slave flashes
                        http://www.amazon.co.uk/Portaflash-P.../dp/B00ABKILRI
There was a main flash that I could adjust to full, 1/2 and 1/4 power and two secondry bulbs the bloke that I borrowed them from said that they weren't as powerful as the professional ones but having said that they certainly did the job for me
