    Dead Roses

The wife likes to keep her roses around till they almost turn black. So I took a couple and photographed them for the blog.

You have some very bright highlights on the second one Tom but i like the first but perhaps without the snowman - cant see how he is linked to a dead rose

Thanks for the critique Stan. Fair enough of the snowman. He is there, cause I liked the grin on his face and the tonal contrast w/the red hat, brown arms, orange nose & black buttons & eyes against a red backdrop. As for the glare, was trying to get the flashes set where there was enough light for a 3.5 aperture. The set-up was in a portable studio w/the flashes being diffused by the sidewalls. Facing the image, the flash on the left was a 580EX set to 1/128th power and the flash on the right was a 430EXII set to 1/32nd power w/grid so that the total light was @ 100 sec @ f/3.5, ISO 100. So I'm open for suggestions on how to reduce the glare.
