    Mother's Day Flowers.

My Mum had some flowers bought for Mother's Day, so I thought I would spent some time with the photo tent on the kitchen table. (Though I did have to admit to my brother that I just take over the kitchen - as we were climbing over chairs to make a mug of coffee. )

So the tent sits on the table. Halogen angle poise light to one side and halogen spot light lamp to the other (A BQ special). Camera hand held.

I keep thinking about a light to come from above, but the spare room will only take so much stuff, so until I find another reason to buy the lamp and then pinch it back when I want to photograph it may have to wait.

The back grounds with the exception of the hessian (ebay special) came with the tent. They are like a velvet effect, but are really quite plasticky. Creases come out with a warm iron set on full steam - mind you I did hold my breath when ironing them, didn't want the cost of an iron replacement adding to my woes. They just attach to the backdrop of the tent via some velcro tabs at the top.

My tent is similar to this one. (But I didn't use this seller - the person I bought from hasn't got any listed at the moment.)

I came away quite happy and it took me quarter of a hour and several goes to get the tent back into its package.

Nice series Di, my favourite is the first. You have proved that you don't need to spend a fortune to get the kit to take some great still life / tabletop photos

First is the best. Lovely sensitive lighting and a strong triangle composition.

                    Thanks again Peter & Paul.

I'm really pleased with how these came out myself. Going to have alook at a couple of vases, see if I can pick something up that is a little more photographic.

I would have a look in the Range for vases Di. I go to the one in Parkgate and it's great for stuff like that. I also get my mounts from there and the prices are not too bad too.

Chris - Never thought of there. Off out and about around the shops again tomorrow might just have a rummage and see what they have.
