    Cannon 100D

This looks like a good deal for those who go walkabout with their cameras - and a reasonable price too.

It is very small, very like and 18Mb and cheap.

I am thinking this would be good for those on walks or need a small and lightweight camera. With a 40mm/f2.8 this good prove very good.

Hmm, would have to have need for low weight/size to make me opt for this rather than

Weight and size is key when out walking. If price is more important then perhaps a 1100D would be better than a 650D.

Nothing is smaller than a 100D + 40mm f2.8 unless you want a non SLR

Then take a look at the Sony DSC-RX100 a superb diminutive bit of technology. Superb results.

The Sony DSC-RX100 is not an SLR - therefore cannot share the equipment with my ff.

There is always going to be a compromise between size and picture quality - I could even use my mobile that I always carry ....

I would prefer to stick with Canon SLRs so there is compatabilty with my lens. It is always a compromise

So true Brian. It's a pity the EOS-M missed the mark in many peoples eyes (yet its also well regarded by others, and shown to very good effect by for example Tom). One wonders if the Firmware upgrade in the offing will make it more tempting or the rumoured 'Pro' version.
