        Hi Colin

Excellent shot - is it a real car or a model - interested to know what you used to light it.

        Regards John

To John and Les, it is a model.

Many years ago I used to regularly do the real thing in my rather large studio. The cars had a full wash, valet and dry outside, before being wheeled into the studio. Even the tyre treads were dried before they went over the studio floor.

I mention this because even though the model normally lives in a glass case, it needed an incredible amount of cleaning and dusting before the shoot and I still had to clone out plenty of dust in Photoshop. I could have probably valeted the real thing in the total time it took!

The lighting was one soft box, high and 45 degrees to the rear and one reflector, just to kick a little light into the wheels.

The E-Type is one of my favourite all time cars ... my cousin had one in the 60's ...

That picture wouldn't have been out of place on Jaguar literature from the 60's. Like it.

A BMW Mini Cooper S or an E-Type ... no competition (nice as the Bimi's are).

It's a Burago 1/18 scale model. I also have the soft top, but the lighting doesn't work as well - might try it with the XJ220 though.

WOW - not my usual 'like' for a car shot but damn, this is good. Stunning e-type, a 66 coupe I believe? beautiful whichever it is, and if you don't already have this printed and framed I want to know why.
