    1000D Firmware

    Hi Every one
    Is there anyone out there knowes how to update the firmware on the 1000D
    when the LCD does not turn on as this needs to be turned on to access the firmware screen.

    I'm not familiar with the 1000D, but I assume you can cycle through a host of 'display' options for the rear-screen! You can on most Canon D-SLRs. Do you have a 'Display' button on the rear of you camera? Cycle through that.. Or, check-out your user-manual for 'LCD Monitor'. The unit may also need to be in one of the 'creative' zone modes, rather than the 'green-box' mode, or 'Basic Zone' modes...

      I have contacted canon about this problem, and tried both methods to update the firmware from there web site but nether
      worked so i am having to return it for repair.
