With the 5d3 I was able to take pics right through the night due to the high ISO abilities
I know others with 1D3 bodies gave up part way through the night
Not sure if that helps though

Is there that much of an increased iso capability of the 5D Mark III.....
I like my 1D bodies though, as I am a freelance press/studio/events/sports, just about everything in all weather person, so think my 1D bodies better.
What the best for removing noise and sharpening, or is there nothing when shooting at 6400 ?

I use a 1Dmkiii,and did a wedding a few weeks ago and it worked a treat during the day,but i struggled covering the afterwards, reception and evening events. If i had the choice I'd play safe and go with the 5Dmkiii it can handle low light situations with ease, much more than the 1Dmkiii.

If you have 1D bodies, then rather keep them and maybe get a 6D for weddings. Great in low light and much cheaper than a 5d3.
But the 5d3 is no slouch for action photo though. Not as fast as some of the 1D's or 7D, but cheaper than the 1Dx :-PCanon Eos 70D, Tamron 28-300mm XR Di VC, Yongnuo YN565EX + YN568EX, Panasonic FZ200

I have had 1 series bodies ever since the EOS 1n film body and swear by them as the tool to get the job done. However, given that choice and knowing that you will need to use high ISO and want as high a dynamic range as possible, I would go for the 5D MKIII or 6D. The newer sensors and processors will give you the edge.
Or ............. dig deep and look at the 1Dx.Colin
