    Laugavegur Trail, Iceland

    Saw the Julia Bradbury program and decided we would do this trail. This was our first trip to Iceland and words just can't do justice to the place. It is an amazing country with seemingly endless photo opportunities.

    Now unfortunately I didn't take a tripod (to save on weight) which means all the pictures I took are hand held and so I can't really count them as landscapes but more holiday record shots. Added to that the fact that it rained on 4 and half days out of six (and for most of the day, on and off) and I was shooting higher ISO than normal. This coupled with the fact that I hadn't realised the camera's high ISO noise reduction setting was switched off means that these images are duller and noisier than acceptable but I've posted them here for comments anyway. All I can add is that I have to go back and if anyone here is thinking about going there - think no more. Go.

    We watched that episode too and what a beautiful place it looks. I'd be pleased to have taken these shots.

          A set of beautiful images, great colour and composition. A bit bemused by your comment re the tripod or lack off. In my book they are fine landscapes with or without a tripod!

                Andy, Dave, Stan, Petros, Muscat & Wayne, thanks for looking. I appreciate the positive comments.

                Petros : re my comment on tripod. Probably me being paranoid and over critical of my own work. I really need to post more so that I can get a feel for what I get wrong (in order to improve) but also to know when I've got something right so I can keep doing it. I think I was a bit worried I'd overcooked these during the raw conversion stage and felt the need to explain why.

                Cheers

                    Hi Scott;

                    Iceland is high on our Bucket List, and your images have re-ignited that interest... Well done under difficult conditions.

                    Cheers;

                              Thanks Tom. In addition to my earlier (in this thread) comment about the need to post more I'm also aware that I need to start commenting on others shots as well. I think you must be one of the most commenting members here - how do you find the time :)
