I wouldn't know where to start with the set-up for something like this, was it difficult to do Colin?Canon EOS 5D Mark III, EF 135mm F/2 L, EF 16-35mm F/4 L, EF 50mm f/1.8, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, EF 28mm f/2.8

Re: Dance
was it difficult to do Colin?
Slightly more seriously, I was doing some dance and movement shots which were only partially effective, because she brought a black leotard and tights. Not quite what I had in mind against a black background, so we did some static dance shots which came out OK.
While she was on her toes for some of the ballet shots, I saw this shot in my mind, immediately dropped to the floor, opened the aperture up by a stop and squeezed off a couple of shots before she came off her toes.
I like the black tights against the black background, with just the sheen of her tights adding form to her legs and giving all the emphasis to the ballet shoes. It was shot in the opposite plane, but I have flipped it so that it reads from left to right.
I also rather like it in Mono:

Like this Colin, simple but effective, the slight shadow gives a needed depth.Concentrate on equipment and you'll take technically good photographs. Concentrate on seeing the light's magic colours and your images will stir the soul. - Jack Dykinga
Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography- George Eastman

That's a Dancer Colin, well done👍
Looking at them on my phone my vote is for the colour version. I'll call back later on a PC to check out the second version.Peter

I said I would call back and look again at these on a PC as Stan says they are both fairly equal but the second seems to have a little more impact IMO which may seem strange as really the only change is to the shoe colour.Peter
