Default The Monthly photography theme: the basics

Following on from our discussion here, Robert Scott has kindly set up a section, for the new 'Monthly Photography Theme'.

The idea behind the Theme, is simply to provide a subject for us to target, for the given month.

We're still in the early stages with this, and no doubt we'll develop the idea in time.

    The basics (so far):

    • This is not a competition, it's purely for fun
    • All photos should be your own and be taken within the month of the chosen theme
    • You can post as many photos as you wish
    • Comments on submitted photos are welcome
    • Please include the exif details (these may be helpful to other members)
    • Please use a Canon camera for your shots
    • The chosen theme, should be as inclusive as possible
    Canon EOS 5D Mark III, EF 135mm F/2 L, EF 16-35mm F/4 L, EF 50mm f/1.8, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, EF 28mm f/2.8

Well no, not really. It's had its moments and anyone can start a topic going- how about you? Think of something and let's have it running from now until say the end of May

I am not good at such tasks; I'd prefer to just follow... :-)

Not sure if there is a theme for this month but as the month is closing here is a sunset from the Masai Mara. if I may suggest a theme for October, how about 'wildlife around my neighbourhood'

EXIF is actually short for Exchangeable Image File Format, but in this context it is referring to the part of that format that contains your photo's exposure data: aperture, exposure time, ISO and so on. You can find it in your photo editing software and it is useful info to include with your photo when posting it, maybe along with info about the camera and lens that you have been using.
