    Digiscoping?

I'd like to see an introduction to Digiscoping, or perhaps a more basic how to fit my camera to a spotting scope. Can you use such a set up for basic astro photography for moon shots perhaps? How does a spotting scope compare with a telephoto, and can you get an eyepiece to turn a telephoto into a spotting scope? Can you use the spotting scopes zoom once a camera is attached.
I've some answers but would really like to see something from the photographers point of view, what little I know has come from the opposite direction.
