    Strawberry Tree Fruit

Noticed some lovely fruit on my Arbutus (Strawberry Tree) today. Thought I'd have a play with my rather primitive macro set-up (reversed 50mm, dining room table, mini tripod and various torches).

    First with an LED torch:

And then more natural (but somewhat soft):

Grateful as always for comments, macro is still very new to me and I have soooo much to learn.

    Re: Strawberry Tree Fruit

I like the second - agree about it's softness.

Also like the first. Has quite a modern feel to it. Looks like a microscope shot of pollen or similar.

The LED light is very white and in this case it works with the first shot - IMHO.

You could try some coloured film in front of the light to give you different effects. A good reason to eat some quality street.

I like using LED and cheap everyday spots lights and trying different effects and often try several lamp placements each time I get the camera out.
If I could the camera set up would never be put away. Alas the kitchen is needed most days of the week.

Di, Stan, Doug, Wayne, Tom, thanks for your comments. No clear cut favourite between the two, then, which is kind of how I felt.
