Both absolutely stunning shots Paul, and you should be rightly proud of what you have achieved after trying for so long, takes a bit of the self imposed pressure off you.... but what are you gong to do in your lunch breaks now !!

Thanks alot guys. Still in shock really lol.

I'm still going for the kingys. I need to help get my buddy Steven some shots as he's helped so much with this too. I want to get closer so I don't need to crop. I also want lower ISO shots. This was ISO3200 cause it was dull.

I got a cracker of him/her banging the fish on the branch too lol

Aye at ISO3200 these don't seem to be affected by noise, but like Papa said before, as long as the subject is sharp you can deal with the BG. The second image is sharper than the first. I kind of lost all my learned knowledge of photography when she landed on the perch. I just focused on the middle and snapped away lol. First time nerves.

Nest time I'll move the focus point about nearer the eye or try to use a expanded DOF.

I've added an action shot from the set to the first page. I don't want to share loads and loads and devalue the moment lol

I would leave your aperture as it is, you have enough DOF there plus it knocks the background out. I would minus your EV compensation by 2/3rds to retain the whites on the bird. Worth a try.

                                Papa.
