    Kingfisher (female?) sooo proud today

Well finally after 8 months, and going down to the river everyday in the morning and afternoon, the kingy finally landed on my perch. I couldn't believe my luck in the hide seeing two of them and then hearing another two calling out to them. They flew away and all looked lost.

I heard the call again and wham! right onto the perch. It sat for all of about 60 shots just doing it's thing. I'm not sure if it's a female as the orange underside of it's beak it's quite all orange. Maybe you can verify?

Thanks for coming on this journey with me. It's been great to have somewhere to share it.

    Unbelievably happy today :)

    Paul

Very nice Paul, and a testament to your dedication and perseverance, it reminds me of the stories of wildlife-cameramen you read with awe

Now you've nailed the Kingfishers what's next?

Thanks ever so much guys. This milestone means a lot to me. I reckon it would have been sooner but with working full time it gets in the way. Added another shot from the set.

Whats next? Hmmm good question. I feel a hunt for Buzzards coming on.

Both of these are excellent shots but for me the second one is absolute stunner.

According to my RSPB bird book the male has a solid black beak and the female has an orange tinge to the lower beak so I would guess that these are a female.

Only KF I've seen that I would be happy about being sure was female the lower beak was very orange. Now of course there will be variation and this may well be a female. Wouldn't like to put money on it though!
