    Re: Canon EOS 7D

I have had my 7D since January... just love it. Apart from it's technical specifications and performance, if feels just right in the hand. Like a camera should, solid and well build. I am still on the 7D learning curve, which for me is steep but I will master this instrument...
    EOS 1DX, EOS 5D mkiii, EOS 7D, EF 17-40mm f4 L USM, EF 24-70mm f2.8 L II USM, EF 70-200mm f2.8 L II IS USM, EF 50mm f1.2 L, EF-S 60mm f2.8 Macro USM, Speedlite 580EX

Apart from the low light section, what lens do you usually use on your camera. I am looking for a mid range zoom, possibly the 24-70 or 24-105 I think it is ... the L series 2.8 or f4 and although I have not yet got the camera, I managed to get hold of a good deal on the Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS USM only yesterday, so I am on the way there!

Thanks for such a good review

Hi Malcolm, the lens that almost glued to my 7D is a 200mm F2.8L lens, I don't use zooms that often, and generally for any shooting that's done at less than 200mm is on a 1 series body.

Of the two mid range zooms, it's a difficult choice, as both are highly rated lenses, although I never really liked the 24-105mm, but that was more of a personal thing, as a lot of togs consider this lens the best thing since sliced bread.

So the 24-70mm would be my choice.

        Re: Canon EOS 7D

Great accurate review of the 7d, I have owned the 7d for about two months, when I went to buy a camara I really did not know exactly what I wanted, at the shop I handled a few (always canon loved my old A1 35 mm) but once I held the 7d I fell in love, it felt so right in the hand, although way over budget there was no other camara that I would settle for, the lens I chose was the EF-S 17-55 f2.8, although not an "L" it is a remarkable lens and compliments the camera well. the 2.8 has been more useful than I thought for low light levels (really bright vewfinder), all I have to do is hone the skills to get the best from both as mentioned it is a complicated camera. As an aside I only have this one lensat the moment, when I have saved enough I am lookng for the canon 70-200 does the veiwfinder look as bright with a f4 max apperture with the 2.8 allowing double the light through the lens.

It's my birthday this month and SWMBO let me get one as it was good deal from an overseas Retailer. I was told to just order it in case they took the deal off. And as usual, I did as I was told :-)

Another fake "SanDisk" story on the web it was only to market the SanDisk company sales.

Really? I wrote about this incident for the October-December 2010 issue of EOS magazine (see page 10). I was in e-mail contact with photographer Petra Hall who owned the EOS 7D and she sent me a number of photographs. I also checked out her website. There was nothing which suggested to me that this incident was a marketing exercise by SanDisk.

You have written your post as a statement of fact, rather than an opinion, so you obviously have evidence to support your claim. Please give details.
