    Lancaster on Dambusters Flypast

    Hi All,

With today being the 71st Anniversary of the Dams Raid, there was a Reunion at the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa, which used to be the Officers Mess of 617 Squadron during WW2.

The Lancaster of the BBMF did a Flypast of the event and I managed these shots from my Front Garden.

    Taken with 7D and 400mm F5.6L, 1/320th, ISO100

Outrageously sharp - and with a 7D like mine too so that's given my confidence a boost

We have the BBMF (and Red Arrows) down here quite often for local air shows so I now know the standard to strive for

      Cheers,
      John

Excellent set of images Paul, it must be great to have these passing by your garden. I only see KLM flights oh and the occasional air ambulance and police helicopters from my garden.

I was confused (easily done ) for a while with the second image and then the brain kicked in and I realised that you need a tree surgeon to clean up your viewpoint .

Top drawer each and everyone, the trees add to them too. So that is the other one from Canada Paul?

No, I have just looked it up, lol

Stan uses a 7D and the shots he turns out should also bolster your confidence in your 7D

The first one for me absolutely nails it. Colour, detail, sharpness. It has it all.

I like the Lancaster bombers particularly as my son, when he was an young lad, had made several airfix models incl this plane. Additionally I was also a young lad to see these planes flying esp at Airshows.
