    Heron before sunrise

    Taken in the pre sunrise light and mist at 5am - creating the blue light. A bonus shot as I was there to photograph another species. 1DX + 300mmMKII 2.8 IS + 1.4xMKIII

    What a lovely, atmospheric image - you can almost feel the dew and cold mist seeping off the page

      Hi James - thanks for the kind comments - a very different image for me and one I like and will print when I have fully processed it. I may try a high key B&W as well. Regards John

        A very nice capture. I certainly would not go out at that time of the day.

                          Thanks Tigger -Yes it was cold until 7am - I was up at 3.30am to photograph another species - I'll post some of those images over the weekend. Regards John

                            Hi John,
                            If you try a print of this image may I suggest you try a Matt art paper - the softness of the paper may help to retain that lovely dew feel about - just a thought.
