    Cartagena, Colombia

My last stop before returning home for the time being. Cartagena used to be the gateway to Colombia and was the way in and out for the conquistadores and the gold. Sir Francis Drake captured it for 40 or so days before ransoming it back to the King of Spain. Then they built the walls and the castle, which the Brits failed to take. The castle is the biggest built in the Spanish colonies, but then it probably protected the most gold!

These are all taken in the old city:

    Hi Richard,
Really like the third image. It's full of quaint colonial decay - echoes of a more wealthy and glamorous past.

You could always head over to the more run down parts of our cities or look for urban and industrial decay in and around our towns and cities?!

These were the smart parts of Cartagena (or at least the old city!) I was driven through the poor parts on the way to see a monastery.

Probably back to the river at Marlow!

                      Probably the safer option.

They're all good but the third is the best for me. A nice uncluttered view, well framed and a very nice shot

Nice collection on flickr Richard. Bogota looks like a vast relatively low-rise city but these 3 here make it look more homely. As with the others here my favourite would be the third one but I love the crazy electrical wiring on the second.

Nice set and particularly the colours in the second. The yellow of the cab matching the building, cool.
