    Samsung ML-2165 toner issue

I find that my toner cartridge for the Samsung printer is still going strong although there is a red and green light when the printer is switched on. The red light is on because the toner cartridge needs to be replaced and I did buy a new cartridge which I have not used, as the old cartridge is still continuing to print OK. My question is (a) whether I should replace the cartridge with my new one or continue to print with the old cartridge until the print is illegible? (b) Whether I would damage the printer by continuing to use the old cartridge despite the red light showing?

    Many thanks,

    Nathaniel

No problem to carry on using the existing toner. Just use till the print quality becomes unacceptable for you.

Often you can take toner cartridge out when showing low give it a gentle shake to redistribute the toner and carry on printing.

Thanks Ant for your comment. Much relieved. Yes, I am aware of the "gentle shake" treatment but in this case I have had no need to do even that as it goes on printing and printing!!!!! When the print becomes poor I will give it the gentle shake treatment as see how far I go with that.
