    Re: The Lovers ;o)

Love that image. Being new to DSLR photography I am taking as much inspiration from each post as I can, and it's images like this, with the fantastic use of light and detail which keeps me striving to keep improving. Thank you.
I'm also baffled how you can keep the image so sharp at that high ISO? Is it the kit, the lens, technique or am I missing a trick here?

don't think I've ever inspired anyone with my snaps before, cheers ;o)

as for the technique its a combination of having a camera that will handle high ISO, a very good new lens 16-35 L that seems to allow me to get away with a lot, plus a bit of luck and having enough light around me to still get the shot with a half decent shutter speed to make sure no movement ...but a lot of luck ;o)

Ian, I keep coming back to this image because I think it is quite stunning. And all the more remarkable for not having been staged. The elements are so perfect with the two smokers ignoring what is going on, and their wine glasses in the window. Did you add/enhance the vignetting or is that just how the light fell?

          Thanks Alex

Its pretty near straight from the camera with a little tweaking in LR - yes I did add the vignetting as I wanted to pull the attention into the couple

Trust me Nat theres nowhere in that town that you can be far away from anything as the streets are so narrow - thats at 32mm on a FF and its not too far off the full image - Had I been any closer I could have scratched the guys head
