I really like these Tom, lovely colours & tones.
Maybe it is the HDR treatment but the first one in particular looks more like a painting from a jigsaw box!

stunning great use of HDR to pull all the details out - loving them but the first is in another class of it own and the best loco photo I've seen in a long time

A cracking set and excellent use of HDR. The first one is particularly special.

Really nice Tom. Lovely use of HDR on a subject close to my heart but so different from our preserved railways.

The WK&S Railroad has an excellent website and this page gives information on their stock: <here>

                Cheers,
                John

                  Re: Old Engines

Thanks MX5, Andrew, Ian, Phil, Stan, Alan & John for stopping by and commenting. What was challenging about these images was the fact that they were taken as the sun was setting. These engines were sitting in the shade so since and the background was being lit up by the setting sun and shooting w/a f/18 & f/20 aperture gave me some long exposure times for these images. I first processed them in LR, then over to HDR Efex Pro to stack them only (giving me a flat tonal image), then back to LR where I finished the processing of the images.

A great set Tom and you have really used the HDR thoughtfully to bring out all the details, great work.
