    What is it?

    Hi all,

We recently had some shots done by an amateur photographer who is trying to get things going.
The setup was nice and basic in her conservatory.
I did however notice that she had what looked like a 3" x 2" box mounted on her camera with a load of LEDs inside.
What is this device and what are they for?

Okay so I know it is some sort of flash but why use this as opposed to a standard flash?

    Thanks

    Re: What is it?

It sounds like a 'modelling light' and can be used for portrait work or even video and is designed to be switched on and off during the session rather than 'flashed' like a conventional, uh, flash. They can be used singly or in groups depending on the effect required. They're quite a lot cheaper than flash guns too and 7dayshop have a range of them and here's but one of them: http://www.7dayshop.com/flash-guns-f...64-x-led-model

    Cheers,
    John
