    Problems posting from Flickr

For a few days now I've been having trouble using the bcc code from Flickr.

More often than not I get an invalid file error. When it kind of works I have to untick the 'Retrieve remote file and reference locally'. And it used to default to URL and now its always from the computer. Anyone else struggling with this?

I just managed a post but only one picture. More than that it wants me to save, open or cancel. Weird.
    Alan.

just posted an image up Alan all worked fine - it does seem like its sods law

I'm sure this is browser related otherwise everyone would be having problems and its too intermittent and would seem across all browsers - I've just posted with FF

Typical hey. I've always used Chrome but tried IE and that was doing the same. It's only when I go to post the link that it goes wrong, and by that time I've written the description for picture. Then have to cancel and start all over again, rather annoying.

I think the bug is in VB - I've worked in the admin section of a VB board and TBH the coding is a mess - although they do offer a fee based support if you have problems, yeah right !!

The last bunch I had that failed went on straight away using edit post. ie start the thread and then edit to add the images. Might have been a fluke, but it's the second time it has worked for me.

                Re: Problems posting from Flickr

Have tried several times to upload 1, 2, or 3 photos from Flickr only ever receiving a notice that the server may be under maintenance or "capacity problems". I have been a member of other forums which have intermittent uploading issues and have eventually left them, I don't have time to keep trying to post as I'd rather be out taking photos. I hope this forum does't go the same way!

Strange and annoying situation Ian, last night I had the issue using Firefox. Tried again his morning using "Edit" post and I managed to get the images loaded but...even then the final image failed. I managed to get around this by using the browser "back" button and refreshing the page using the f5 function.

Images were 800x533 jpegs from 7D II processed in LR and Snapheal using Safari (latest version). I wondered if it is to do with having recently upgraded my OS to Yosemite but as others are having problems with other OSystems perhaps not. I can upload the same images to Twitter, Facebook and DPnow without any issues. Tried several times late yesterday and once early today.

its not details on the image that Robert will need - its browser/version/time - the time being the most import so that any engineer can look at the log files to try and analyse - It's nothing to do with operating system I'm sure its some issue buried within VB, but finding that bug is not going to be easy .... or cheap

Chrome, up to date, 800 wide bb code from Flickr, full size images. I've never had any other issue than the newthread.php variant.

Safari Version 8.0 (10600.1.25), I haven't got exact details of times but the attempt this morning was around 0705. Message displayed was: "The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later."

I have just attempted again and it worked OK

Mine failed from Safari version 8, time 17:40 on 9th Nov 2014. Hope this helps to solve some of this common problem here.
