    Little Tern

    Shot on the Ria Formosa nature reserve in Portugal last month. Watched them for ages diving in a pool quite close

    Well captured...

    What a shame there wasn't a little more contrast avalable in the sky to set-off these elegant birds; but you gotta live with what we're given...

      Unfortunately it was quite dull but reasonabley warm all week

            I assume that was the short hover before the dive Stan? Nicely caught and I like the angle of the wings, shrouding the head. Did you ask it to do a turn?

                thats right Colin - quite difficult as they only seemed to hover momentarily before the dive
