    Upgrading from 650d to 70d ?

Had my 650d for a few years now and I am feeling it is time to upgrade to a new body. I like the flexibility the articulated screen gives me at times and so I am leaning towards the 70d, I mainly photograph sport (cricket & rugby), landscapes, wildlife. So my question to you 70d users out there is will the 70d serve me well in the sport and wildlife areas, any pointers gratefully received.

Last year I have upgraded mine 550D to the 70D. And I had the same questions and others, and I have bought the 70D and I have no regrets at all. You can shoot anything with it. I find it a great camera!
    With kind regards,

i have a 70d and although i have not used it that much (preferring my 1d3) its a more than capable camera for wildlife .the focussing is fast and accurate and while not up to pro body speed its still very quick and the multi focus point areas can be very helpful when needed .there are plenty of examples from it on my flickr stream and i think in the summer i will use it more for insect close up work .heres one of my shots from it and in all honesty i cannot fault it ,virtually the same sensor as is used in a 7d2 for a third of the price or less

a up to date 70d body only can be found for around £500 these days bnib with warranty either u.k stock or reputable grey importers ,a secondhand 7d could be up to 5 years or more old have a high shutter count and/or other unseen problems and will give worse performance noise wise for only a few pounds less .
having had most of these cameras over the years and if your sticking with the prosumer range then the 70d would be my choice .and as a by the way .i did a look-back the other night ,at photos taken over the years with the 40d,50d,60d and 70d and all with a 400mm f5.6 lens the result was despite having spent thousands of pounds over the years upgrading there was virtually no difference in i/q .
the real differences showed up in p/p methods and techniques

in fact i have just looked at the H-DEW website and they are reputable grey market sellers who give super after sales and a proper u.k warranty backup .and a bnib 7d mk1 is £649 or a bnib 70d is £599 the choice is yours

I upgraded to a 70D in December and although only used it a small amount I'm really pleased with it. The cold weather has kept me in the house so looking forward to slightly warmer weather!

I always thought it best to avoid grey imports though

I would personally opt for the 70D as it is newer technology with a more state of the art sensor.

Only with regard to warranty work and repairs ,with h.dew that's not a problem as they use a official canon repair centre plus they will supply a vat receipt if asked
