    Hello

    Hi All,

I brought my first DSLR a year ago as was look to step up from compact cameras. So went for a Eos1200 as seemed a good starting point and I wanted something I could use out of the box with a honeymoon that was coming up in a couple of days. I quickly found out the limits of the auto modes and started to take control of my photos by reading countless walkthroughs to get the results I was after. I have spent the last year upgrading my lenses and pushing myself to get to grips with full manual mode and experimenting with post production.

I like going on walking holidays so have taken a fair few landscapes but I can also see myself being drawn to wildlife photography. I have not long had a “sigma 10-20mm f/4 5.6 dc hsm” and my other main purchase is a “tamrom 70-300 vc usd”. I have a canon 50mm as seemed a great price and have been impressed with the sharpness with that lens. Going forward I’m tempted to upgrade my body to the new 760 or a older 70d to give me greater control over the manual controls.

Anyway I find myself here to get some inspiration and get some constructive criticism on my photos . I have put some of the picks from the last year on flickr so please have a look.

      Hello

Welcome to the forum Ben. You have a good eye for composition, but I do like the perspective you did with the dog

Welcome Ben and some nice images on Flickr!

Good to see you've started with Flickr right away as some (including me) took their time but it's by far the best way I know of sharing your images with the forum as it's a simple matter of copying/pasting the BCCode into a post.

        Cheers,
        John
