I got the small box with a cross in it again earlier this afternoon when I tried a new thread but not certain if it was the forum as the image was one I had just uploaded to flickr and it took an age to show up on my photostream

I have not had the 503 for months until today...been like it for a couple of hours now and the old trick of posting without a shot and then edit and add straight after is not working either

yes, I suppose I have been lucky to avoid it for some time and you can understand those whom it has affected regularly giving up and leaving the forum

agree completely even during my short membership here I've seen people vanish - its a great shame especially when you consider its only coding!

Yes, getting a bit annoyed now... I have occasionally had it over the years but I've always got around it by posting text then editing to add in the images, but that isn't working today.

Seems to be working again now but slower than usual in rendering the images on the screen

This is ridiculous. A 503 error means the server is unavailable but clearly it is available otherwise we wouldn't be able to post these messages. No, the problem is connected to the forum's inability to parse external links. Although why that shoul be, I've no idea.

Its a bug thats been around for a long time sadly Greg - The "server is unavailable" message is just a default message that basically the forum can't handle the upload ... It does seem to revolve around and its not surfaced for a good few weeks - maybe the owners of EOS aren't peddling hard enough to keep the server running / cool

looking at how long your last two images took to open I thought the bug was still in the system somewhere
