    Flight 93 Memorial

On September 11, 2001 @ 09:57 EST, after the passenger's of Flight 93 learned that flight 77 struck the Pentagon & flights 11 & 175 struck the World Trade Center, they voted to revolt. It was due to their response that prevented flight 93 from crashing into the US Capitol Building and sent it down into a farmer's field in Stoney Creek, Pa @ 563 MPH, killing everyone on board.

During this Memorial Weekend, my wife and I stopped by to pay our respects to those brave passengers that sacrificed their lives to stop an attack on our nations capitol.

It was a solemn walk to the crash site where people left articles in remembrance of those on the plane:

When we arrived, there were columns of white stones with a single name on each stone of each passenger that lost their lives on that plane. The Stones where lined up in the same flight path that flight 93 took as it headed toward the crash site.

    1/400 sec @ f/18, ISO 100 @ 27mm

As you followed the stones, in the distance is a boulder that marks where the crater was after flight 93 made impact with the ground. The ground is considered scared ground and only the family members of those that lost their lives are allowed on the ground. The rest of us are only allowed to view it from a distance.
