    Dartford Warbler

One of the reasons we went to Arne RSPB last week was to hope to catch sight of one of the Dartford Warblers - there are quite a few pairs there but in all my visits I have never seen one. Dee managed to spot this male but I couldn't get a clear shot but she did. Quite a crop and for some reason the exif has disappeared from flickr. She was usuing the 300f4 and converter though. One day we will manage to get one sitting at the top of the gorse bush

Yep, rare species indeed and a bird I've yet to see never mind photograph. UK breeding population was once very low , handful of pairs, but numbers are a bit better these days.

          Well done Dee.

            Cheers guys

We have seen them along the cliffs where I shoot the kestrel and stonechats in the past but never got a really close shot

              Re: Dartford Warbler

Looks pretty good to me, especially for such a rare bird. I'd be well pleased to get a shot like that. The background is just far enough back to be sufficiently out of focus to really make the bird stand out.
