    Butterfly or Moth?

    Struggling to identify this one, thought it was some sort of skipper but now I'm not sure!!!

      An excellent shot Scott. My money is on a Small Skipper (Thymelicus sylvestris), based on the spurs on the middle & hind leg, and the lack of branching in the wing veins.

              Small and large skippers are quite similar, the small is around 14mm and the large 16mm and the large upper wings are a much richer brown than the small - so I would say this is a small

              As to butterfly or moth, they are both butterflies
