    Thruxton

We went to the Superbikes practice day at Thruxton yesterday, much cheaper than the weekend and far fewer people about. Not had a chance to sort the shots yet but here are a couple I quite like

Both with the 70-200 f2.8 and 1.4x, TV mode with shutter set at 1/320

Never been to Thruxton but it looks like you had great line of sight for the apex shots, really good set but I'm really struggling to get past the colours - none of them look 'natural' they all have a washed out look about them, sorry mate just not working for me that way.

                      .DAVID.
Take nothing but photo's - leave nothing but footprints!

Think David just beat me to it, nice set with some good lines but colours are a little flat probably due to lifting of the shadows ?

The mound overlooking the chicane is about the only place on the circuit where you can shoot without any fences but the downside, particularly on Friday was shooting more or less into the sun, so a healthy dose of the shadows and highlights tool was needed to lift the shadows. Also the tarmac at Thruxton always tends to give a magenta caste so that was something to fix as well

It funny i always hope the sun is shining when i go out to shoot then I'll have full control over all my settings,
Then reality kicks in too many bright highlights, Sun in the wrong place, shadows are killing any fine detail give me cloudy(but dry)weather every day of the week

Having just checked out some images shot at the same time by a professional tog, admittedly he has never done motor sport before, the colours of his shots are very similar to mine, although slightly less bright so its the conditions on the day

                              stan

here is one taken later in the day and have just applied minimal processing to with just a very minor shadows lift. White balance has been set from the tarmac, so I think these colours are now pretty accurate
