Bee Wolf with prey. Canon 70d, Tamron 90mm, 1/5300 @F8 ISO640
I've been trying to get this image for a while now. These solitary digger wasps are fascinating. This is a female Bee Wolf. As the name suggests they catch and paralyze solitary bees, carrying them back to there burrows dug into the sand. A number will be collected and sealed in the burrow for the wasp larva to feed on They are all carried in this deadly embrace! Gruesome!!!
