    Kingfishers

    Early morning yesterday at Blashford, had a couple of hours shooting them in the sun before the rain returned

    Stan

    onf of the perches right in front of the hide, almost full frame


    A perch lower down to the water and al ittle further away


    both shot with Sigma 150-600 at 1/200, f7.1, ISO800

        so lucky that you can head out knowing you'll get to see them
        just what I was saying to Dee today. They were around, at least there was one of them, from that hide last year but it was hit and miss if you would see him but this year there are 4 and no more than half an hour wait before you see at least one of them

        Don't know how long it will last so are making the most of them while we can and hoping to get the so far elusive shot of one with a decent size fish

                            I am amazed just how active they are. Dee and I went again very early this morning and between 7 - 8.15 am there were 3 of them constantly coming and going, perching and diving. Still didn't get the fish shot although at one stage and caught one but swallowed it before I could get a shot - I think Dee may have got it but not had a chance to look as yet

                              I still have not got the fish shot but this is one from Dee this morning at the lakes. Only the one shot before it was swallowed and light not too good so hand held at only 1/60 sec
