    Sigma Close-up lens AML 72-01

I've been fairly happy with the close-up performance of the Sigma 18-300mm and I have tried it out with the Opteka 10x HD Macro lens that I already had. However this is really quite an extreme approach to close-ups and needs very careful use, not really suitable for field use more suitable to a controlled set-up with tripod etc. I purchased the Sigma close-up lens designed for the 18-300mm and have had a chance to try it out in the garden this morning.

DoF could be better but I don't want to go much smaller than f11. More experimentation is in order I think, however it has much use as an attachment that can just be slipped into a shirt pocket for the odd occasion.

Looks like it has worked reasonably well David and a cheap alternative to a proper macro lens
