Thanks Ian, I've noticed that I can enable some statistical MumboJumbo which seems to be FOC so I may add that to see how many visitors etc, what do you think

        Re: any advise on websites

having a good stats program is essential to any website, especially if you are selling from it as it will show you what people are clicking on, and , depending how good the program is how long they stay on the page and which one they look at next

I use a free one called Statcounter that can be installed onto HTML sites & blogs. I'm not sure SmugMug would allow a third party program installed into there sites so its worth researching. The basic reporting is free and will offer you all the data you need.. They offer a paid version but you will only need to worry about that if your site is getting thousands of hits a day and if so you'll be making money from it so won't mind paying the few bucks a month they charge

Thanks Ian that one is I think the one that is available to use. I'll give it a go later but I've got to go out today to help an old pal celebrate his 70th [emoji481][emoji482]
I'm the designated driver so tweaking the site when I get back shouldn't be an issue [emoji41]

in that case yes get it installed - once installed go to the statcounter home click the "blocking cookie" otherwise every time you click on the site it will show as a hit - the blocking cookie will stop this

Thanks Richard, it's still work in progress as the images that are on the site were just some that I had previously edited for use on the forum.
The site is hosted on SmugMug using one of their templates. SmugMug have four different levels of service the two higher ones have the e-commerce capability. The higher (more expensive) level has some additional commercial functionality e.g. Company branding etc.
I also used the company Ian (Tigger) suggested for obtaining my Domain Name.

You can check all these things in the Accounts menu under Stats depending what smugmug addition you have?
