Thread: Ring flash for macro

    Default Ring flash for macro

I'm about to buy a 100 macro f2.8L and need a ring flash . The canon is expensive....would you have any advice on independent models....i.e Yongunu or Intetfit or others?

I've got the Nissin MF18 ring flash and very pleased with it - offers loads of power with features to adjust output

Brian, I'm sure someone on here bought the Yongunu version of the Canon MR14, might be worth a search of the forum sections.

I have the Canon MR 14, and as you say it is expensive and you have to buy the lens adapter separately, which from memory was around 30.

But for a fraction of the price you can get the Yongnuo MR 14, looks identical and does everything the Canon does and includes a range of adapters for different lenses. Had it been available when I bought my Canon MR 14, I would certainly have bought the Yongnuo in preference.

Being sold on Amazon by various sellers http://www.amazon.co.uk/Yongnuo-YN-1...s=yongnuo+14ex

Will it control off camera flashes? I seem to rember my canon would but the other wouldn't.
