    Online printing

A question about DS Colour Labs. The first two they printed for me were black and white and came back looking excellent. The recent two are colour and to be honest are very disappointing. One was of glasses on a white background, the background came out grey. The next image was pink orchids on a deep black background. Whilst the black is OK, the pinks have been very desaturated.

There must be something fundamental that is wrong here. On my screen (which I calibrated last week using ColorMunki Display. It did change the setting but not as dramatic as the outcome of the prints) they look perfect. And if I print them at home they come out as expected. How can white comes out grey and pink being almost zero pink?

I'm debating getting them printed elsewhere as a comparison but surely DS Labs wouldn't exist if they printed for everyone they have for me.

    Your thoughts please, thanks.
    Alan.

Not sure why your prints are not quite what you want I've used DS Colour in past and was happy with the results. Recently used Loxley Colour and have pleased with results.

I use Pro Am and they like to have their profile loaded, don't know if DS have their own or if it is the problem I'm sure a call will resolve the issue

Thanks for the comments chaps. I shall call them tomorrow to see what has happened. Probably something I should have done

To close this off for interest. As I suspected the fault was with me. They told me that the files need converting to sRGB format and NOT RGB as I had sent them. Also its beneficial to use their profiles which I downloaded from their website. So prior to saving, I need to open them is PS, convert to sRGB and apply their profile before saving as a jpeg.

They very kindly printed one of the two for free and charged me for the other. They did this in the afternoon and both were with me the following day. Now that's service.
