    My cross polarisation effort

    Thanks to Stan's instructions, here are a couple of my attempts. I had some plastic picnic glasses so thought I'd see what liquid added (not much) although I did quite like the added interest of some bubbles.

    I didn't have any plastic glasses otherwise I would have tried that as well - works well although as you say the water apart from a couple of bubbles doesn't make much difference

      First is the better of the two Alex. Great effect. I rather like the bubbles

        Agree with Alan, the first shot looks best.. - both good shots though.

              Stan, Alan, Bill, Tom, Ian, thanks all.
              It was actually fascinating (if you are a geeky kinda guy) just to watch a white screen change to black just by rotating the circular polarising filter. I know the theory but I can't really get my head round the idea that light is just a wavelength.
