    Caban Coch.

Lots of noise and water but not a lot of light.

That's a spooky sky Chris, I like the composition well captured. Well worth a revisit in better light.

I'm confused by two things which seem to be at odds with each other in the image. The top of the dam seems to drop down to the right hand side but the level of the water against the far ground slopes in the opposite direction.

Do you have this also without the HDR processing? At one side I like this, but on the other side this is this to unrealistic for me.
      With kind regards,

Hi Peter, the illusion is because the dam side walls are tapered, as the wall falls it goes inwards towards the centre of the dam at the bottom, so the farthest point of the side wall is narrower than the nearest point of the wall in relation to the dam face.
I have another image that might help l will post it when l have processed it, l went to a lot of trouble to make sure the camera was level when l took the image.Hope that helps

The problem about going for a revisit is, the water doesn't get over the weir on top of the dam very often, and it's a two hour drive to get there.

I like that a lot. Well composed and although the sky is a little overworked it all works for me

A spooky sky for sure, an almost sinister setting.

I have to say I like it, a bit different from many landscapes and gives an artistic interpretation.
