    Hello from Worcestershire

I have just joined the forum and am also new to EOS so the learning curve is very steep at present. I have been taking photographs since the 1960's, starting with a box camera that used a push-up wire frame. I have since owned a number of cameras (Kodak #2 bellows, various Olympus SLR and DSLR's) but took the plunge last year to go full frame and bought a 5DS R. The results so far have been stunning and awful - in other words, hit and miss. Learning the limits of what the camera can do and re-framing my thinking when composing has been great fun, especially trying not to have to do too much in DPP or LR!

My main interest is in seascapes/landscapes and architecture but I would also like to experiment with natural light portraits. First though, I really need to work out all the options in all the different modes and stop listening when my wife says she is very happy with the photographs she takes with her Sony WX500 and especially how much cheaper it was to buy than my body, lenses, tripod, filters, bags...

I look forward to participating in the forum

    Stephen
