That's very good. Have been looking at Solarham and activity jumped to Kp6 and supposed to be still at 5 tomorrow.

Got about a hundred to go through, tried all sorts of iso settings and different speeds, didn't really know what I was doing, amazing even to the naked eye, but a long way away sadly.

Guessing a bit of camera movement as at 24mm and 15 seconds there shouldn't be any star trails.

Hopefully should still be fairly good tomorrow so looking forward to seeing some more shots.

Very windy Antony, was using a cable release, think faster shutter and higher iso will remove the blurring, it was moving quite quickly.

Looking at settings for the image you're certainly in the right area, shutter speed is about right. You can go as long as 20secs at 24mm. Usual caveats for this type of work, turn of IS, use MF and live view to focus on a star, sturdy tripod and remote release. You might want to use mirror lock up too though I programmed short delay on the remote I used.

And looks like tonight should be even better as Pk7 is now forecast.

Thanks Antony, going further north to the Moray coast today, so hopefully get a spot with less light pollution.
