    From reading the Rumours site I tend to agree with what Andy is saying in that it would be a non "L" EF-S lens, but it would have to be a step up from the Tamron/Sigma offerings to make it worthwhile though and in all honesty I think that could be a struggle as many posters on here are producing excellent images with for instance the Sigma such as Jeff, Stan and others so if its not priced similarly it would have to offer improved I.Q , if it does transpire that its an "L" lens where does that leave the 200-400 in the range... we shall just have to wait and see !!

    so Canon has us waiting for the 5Dx and now a new lens, could pick both up at the same time, assuming I found a new wife as well

    The one good thing i see it's f5.6 at 600mm, maybe i can get away with using one for Cricket lol.

    5.6 to 6.3 is around a third of a stop, or did you mean something else?

    The original patent was for an EF full frame lens, and all the rumours I've read refer to an EF lens.

    The unknown, as far as I can see, is whether it will be an L or non-L lens.
